although Knowles got most of the spotlight, Harber leaves as Lions all time leader in total yards and total TDs. STUD. he is also the leagues all time leader in fumble recoveries by a significant margin :) at least he picked up most of his fumbles (im curious on why his fumble recovery rate is so much higher than anyone elses....check it out, he is truly an outlier there) we couldnt give him the 52 million bonus he got but we can wish him the best luck we hope he breaks all time TD record
was hoping for one more season from Knowles. he said he had some left in the tank but he wants to save it for the fam. dude has twelve kids. he retires as leading all time post season rusher. amazing guy with amazing talent. forever loved in Lagos
Lions also lost both of their veteran QBs to retirement. we got a whole new backfield with no clear vision on who starting QB or RB is yet. hopefully QB Brian Puente will step up since he is on books for $38,749,796.......easily the worst signing in franchise history. his ratings are ideal.... he is like Ryan Leaf for us. he hasnt played since he was removed for having 2 TDs to 12 INTs
an enticing crop of rookies have reported to camp. in hopes of continuing the long line of pedigree RBs, the Lions managed to complete a draft day trade with the Sharks to move up for TE to RB convert Yong Monzo. we love TE to RB converts. he should pair well with RB Michale Espy. smash mouth football! Lions will surely be among the top rushing teams once again in 2100....they havent been outside of top 5 since 2087, the last time they missed the playoffs. (during this research it was discovered that Lions were league leaders in rushing yards every season from 2088 to 2094. the Tornadoes are currently carrying the torch and have led each season since 2097)
however, the owner was busy with other work.....draft rounds 3 and up could have been executed sharper. primary example being picking Big Hungry Joe Brown ahead of Vito McClellan. as of now overall draft grade is B- with a chance to change dramatically. we had board filled with the guys we wanted just didnt have a chance to organize them completely......so no real disappointments just maybe not optimized
SS Nick Chavez, QB William Dooley, WR William Porter & P Yong Winzer were added in free agency with Chavez being the prize. feel like we got a good deal on him depsite overbidding by a notable amount. Dooley has a good shot at starting QB
hopefully Lions improve their pass defense. they finished last in passing yards allowed per game in 2099. aim is to put more pressure on QB but not much was done in off season to do so
