im excited for the new season and what Macho Banjoko is gonna do with his first spin at RB1. not sure about my Lions tho. there was a shake up in the coaching staff. secondary might not have the talent and speed to prevent big plays. an 8-8 season would be fine with me....the Africa division is purified brutality. three teams are currently in the top 8 of programs power rankings
the defending champion Stampede seem to have only improved during the offseason despite not having a pick in the first two rounds of the draft. they may be fielding the fastest team ever assembled in ULRO and are heavily favored to return to the post season
the 86ers are striving under new ownership and have altered the rule book. RB Maldonado practiced with the WR corps during the preseason but has made the switch to RB1. this will slow him down a tad but he is expected to continue his production which will ease the responsibilities of an extremely talented defense
the Deities had a disastrous draft and seem to be lacking a reliable RB1 but are expected to provide a tough match as always as they hope to return to their 2072/2073 form
other teams to watch:i highly doubt the Zippers will miss the playoffs two years in a row. an 8-8 finish last season was good enough to finish third in the Asia division. in theory, this will give them an easier path to the post season since two of their games will be against other teams who finished third in their division last season. it is safe money to book them for January
the great Rajkot reset seems to be ahead of schedule. liquidating all assets has resulted in a plethora of draft picks which are being used to acquire seemingly any player desired. the defense is loaded with young talent and speed. but i wonder, if they can get any player, why is there no game breaker at RB1? for me it is clear that RB1 will remain the most important position (by far) until there is a new game engine. either way, Rajkots run to the Conference showdown last season is a clear signal of what is ahead for the ambitious franchise. their matches with the Zippers will be must see TV. perhaps RB1 is the last piece of
hkpman7180s plan.......i fail to think of a reason to wait
and while the Rajwadi and Zippers battle it out the Heroes are enjoying the non attention as they quietly build a contender. i cant say i see them as a lock for making their first playoff appearance this year, but it is easy to see them in the hunt....
AVCaptain is no joke
the Canada division is amazing.....my favorite. its every year with these guys, amirite? maybe not. the Kraken seem to have taken control as they are sitting on back to back division crowns. to date, they have never had a losing record, missed the playoffs just once and are currently #3 in programs power rankings. the fact that they have managed to achieve this in a division which has sported a team with a losing record just 4 times since the jump adds some depth to their accomplishments in this writers opinion
repeat, the Canada division has had just four teams with a losing record in seven seasons. that is 4 out of 28, or 14%. that is almost unreal. a certain anomaly. not sure what are the odds of that happening, but i have strong suspicion they are curiously low. any statisticians here willing to figure that out? the worst a team has ever finished in that division was 6-10
the Prizefighters 2075 season came to a screeching halt with a big time upset loss at home in the first round of the playoffs. they seem poised for another post season appearance. HC Clifford Hoehne has guided the squad to an impressive 4 consecutive division crowns with 11 wins each season....but he will probably be cleaning out his office if Manila is ousted early again......he is 1-3 in the first round with the three losses happening at home. get your men in line, Hoehne!
the Macaws made a surprising pass on RB Ernest Shackleton with the first pick of the draft. they have a monstrous o line that is so ready to guide the way for a top tier running back. will RB Thomas Robles continue his late career emergence with his raw talent? we will find out if speed truly is king in Havana
the Revolutions dynamic duo of Steinberg & Sampson are entering their final days. do they have enough fuel in the tank to lead a rebound from a disappointing 4-12 campaign? facing the Butchers and the Bayhawks two times each wont make it easy
i am hoping for a breakout season for either the Manta Rays or the Sharks in the Oceania division. both teams have yet been able to muster a winning season or breathe the air in the postseason. a turn around for either team would put some pressure on the Prizefighters and the Anchors who have finished 1,2 for the past 5 seasons
are the Bushmasters for real? after several seasons of losing records and head scratching, they managed to finish 2075 with a 11-5 and made it to the conference showdown. was their success the result of a week schedule strength? maybe, but that wouldnt explain their impressive playoff run. seems to me the team got heart. we will see how they do in the final year of long time head coach Billy Finneys contract. he is probably the only HC to be with same team since inception...know of any others?
the Guazues seem to be ready for the postseason. will RB B.A. Baracus injury woes in his rookie season persist? it seems the answer to that question will determine their fate
a warm welcome to ULRO first timers
