I get that older players are devalued but he's a top notch QB for a 6th round pick and a cut bust?

Shouldn't a overwhelmingly lopsided trade like this be overturned?

To me the Bobcats got a 6th round pick for free. There are a ton of QBs available as free agents that I'd rather have, despite their attributes technically being worse. Maxed out QB attributes are very overrated in my opinion, besides accuracy.

Without a doubt a veteran of the league, I wanted to cut him but it cost me 7m in salary cap this year and 15m in salary cap next year
It was cheaper for me to make a transfer even for a sixth round pick

The cap penalty is the same either way whether you trade or cut him.

What way would you even possibly be able to claim is an improvement on Green? There's not even any competent QBs in fa let alone an excellent one like Green

I really think it's all about accuracy. For example our QBs (Stan Taylor and Michael Mullen) had almost identical seasons last year. Stan Taylor has a trade score of 2210, Michael Mullen has a trade score of 53.

Edit: And a default rating of 89 vs 66.

For the most part it comes down to accuracy, arm strength and not having low intelligence yes. Though you can substitute arm strength with being high in other stats instead. The others help after the important high stats but only minimally or in other categories such as hard count increases off sides and scrambling reduces the effect of pressure and picks better step up lanes and combined with pass release reduces sacks. While I get your point that lower overall can be effective with the right stats they still need to be comparable or better in key stats which there aren't any in fa as you claimed. By your own definition Greene is a perfect QB then.
