DUBLIN STRONGBOWSUps: Dublin is happy to see an improvement in their front 7 and will be fielding a fierce crew of linebackers.
Downs: a missed opportunity for LDE Kelvin Yost to become a long time leader of a stout defense. he may now find himself sitting behind two guys that were drafted more than 20 rounds after he was….how embarrassing! i guess that is what happens when you draft guys from Maryland
ATHENS OWLSUps: not much to report. each of the owls running backs increased by one.
Downs: a brutal camp for Athens. WR Joseph Perkins will still make plays despite his prima donna tendencies. The entire quarterback crew decided to do the opposite of the running backs and they all decreased, but by more than one. QB Davenport disappointed and a late round flyer on QB Vasquez did not provide any consolation. seems to me that the Owls were hit the hardest in camp. in the words of the great steve smith sr…..”Ice up, son. Ice up.”
OXFORD STREET URCHINSUps: Cheekie - Fat Rascal has arrived and is now my number one rated rookie QB. RB Rick Shaw is a beastman and has gotten better but seems to be out of position. Seems he should be making blocks and getting open for easy first downs to compliment Cheekie - Fats abilities, but hey, ive been wrong before. very wrong.
Downs: taking two more quarterbacks in the early rounds could be a good idea until those quarterbacks **** in the bed. Its good QBs Jackson Lewis & Carroll Evans wont be needed, but it wouldve been nice for Oxford to have some trade value in return. Evans will make a serviceable back up. dismal camps for both RT Travis Mathena & RG Michael Long do not help the Street Urchins lame offensive line
PRAGUE SPIRESUps: Iceberg James III is ready to crush the opposition with the force of a thousand hydraulic presses.
Downs: not a good camp for Prague….not good at all. only four players went at least +2 and thirteen players went at least - 2. six of their top 21 picks went -4 or more. MLB Brandon Scales still has a bright future, but not QB Ryan Moreno. he is among the biggest busts in the league and doesnt have much of a future outside of jobs that dont require wearing a football uniform. he could still coach or be involved with something football related, announcing maybe, but the being on the field part of football is not going to work out for him
TOYAMA ZIPPERSUps: with a big improvement, WR Andrew Barker locks in his position at WR3 and proves to be a well spent 34th round pick. open tryouts for kickers and punters proved fruitful. An overall albeit minor improvement on defense has provided a boost in morale as the Zippers enter the season.
Downs: several players on the offensive line simply didnt show up. Might need to fire the offensive line coach William Taylor. Not necessarily a “down” but worth noting: the Zippers only had 7 players who did not fluctuate at all.
TEL AVIV KINGSUps: the Kings made wise use of their 19th pick with the taking of DT Wade McCain (+5). Along with other improvements on the defensive line in LDE stone in ma shoe (+3) & RDE Isaac Baker (+2), look for Tel Avivs front four to make several uninvited visits to opponents backfields.
Downs: a trio of cornerbacks failed to meet expectations and have the Kings desiring a bit more talent to match their speed in the secondary
SHANGHAI PIRATESUps: DT John Lawson has announced that “he is not here to make friends”. No one has seen him outside of the gym while the sun is up. others on defense have followed his lead. Ironically, this has caused a tight bond and the Pirates are determined to be the premier defense of Ultimate Legends RO
Downs: MLB Dennis Giannini slipped a bit in camp but the tight knit Pirates defense doesnt leave any men behind and he will prove to be a valuable starter. A couple mid round picks attempting to address the help needed for CB Ray Best didnt quite work out as intended
JOHANNESBURG 86ersUps: WR Dexter Vaughn will be providing the 86ers with top ten talent at a 15th round price. 4th round pick WLB Gilbert Grant is gonna be a problem for offenses during the next decade. Only two players stayed put, which is good for 86ers since many of their players, well...read on
Downs: Volatility is a double edged sword, but one side of the blade seems to be sharper than the other in Johannesburg. A whopping 16 players came out of camp -5 or worse. for the 86ers, camp couldnt have went much worse without the use of demonic sorcery
LAGOS LIONSUps: the Lions are thrilled to have landed a long term solution at RT with Vinny Delatorre. Norbert Osgoods improvement places him at number one in my ratings of fast young CBs, a coveted weapon in MFN. Overall improvement in the secondary eases initial concerns of neglect.
Downs: TE Tank Herrera did a face plant when presented with his chance to lock in the TE starting job until his retirement. high hopes were in place for RB Lester Countachs camp success, but he plummeted 5 points despite being a moderate 46 VOL. Both burners at wideout decreased in value.
BRAZZAVILLE STAMPEDEUps: RG Ralph Adams has thrown his hat into most improved contention and will become a starter despite being selected in the 33rd round. QB Dennis Cobbs improvement places him third in my rookie QB ratings and is expected to retire a legend 14 seasons from now
Downs: SLB Donald Hilberts speed couldve wouldve been accentuated vastly with an uptick in camp, but that was not the case. WLB Joseph Negris decline tops off a painful experience for the Stampede linebacker corps
CAIRO DEITIES Ups: Gabby Boone can be the QB the Deities need him to be as long as he learns to hold onto the ball. the Cairo linebackers are fast and hungry
Downs: more downs than ups for Cairo. QB Cunningham IVs decline might have cost him the starting gig. WR Kermit Legg will remain relevant with his afterburner speed despite his -4 showing. FS Jose Simpsons slip may have been the most discouraging for the Deities.
JAKARTA MANTA RAYSUps: DT William Smith just added a story to his house
Downs: WR Duncan Butlers slip is an unfortunate late career happenstance
AUCKLAND ANCHORSUps: small boosts to speedy WRS Ziggy Stardust & Booger McFly are a concern to opposing secondaries
Downs: TE Barny Dixon showed the Anchors his weaknesses and reminded scouts about inflated stats in players from second rate football programs. C Thomas Smith looks like he will hold onto starting role despite his poor effort
MANILA PRIZEFIGHTERSUps: CB Brett Kellys display of ability has placed him among consideration for “steal of the draft” honors. RDE Leroy Brooks has excelled and secured himself a starting role alongside LDE Hector Garcia on the Prizefighters shallow defensive line.
Downs: Prizefighters had 18 players leave camp -2 or more. !0th round pick CB Samson Caldwell took the biggest dump with a stinky -9.
