QUEBEC KRAKEN

Ups: a big boost at both guard spots for the Kraken. LG Bruce Black & RG Charles Castillo both had huge camps and Quebec has solidified two important starting positions for the long term with picks 15 & 16….not bad. Highly volatile number one pick QB Shane Sharp has proved that he is ready to start now and his corps of receivers is ready to go where he takes them.

Downs: The Kraken, with an already slim secondary, had a lot riding on the success of CB Boomerang Jetson. The Quebec Newspaper 24 Heures has referred to him as “Busterang Jetson”. Ouch!

VANCOUVER TRIDENT

Ups: an improvement with both early cornerback picks (Chance Robak & Daniel Lasher) has rewarded the trident with a premier tandem which the Vancouver Sun has dubbed “Air Traffic Control” and “VTATC” shirts are already available online. also a nice boost to the offensive line, each of their three top 12 oline picks had improvement and the Trident may have the best offensive line in the league. MLB Lyden Unutoas improvement will make him a regular near the top of stat sheets

Downs: QB Jaxson Bowers slip may not seem like much, but his pass accuracy is now topped off at 79….not the accuracy one would want out of a second round allocation pick *sad horn sound*

CALGARY POWER

Ups: QB Keyser improved, but his accuracy remains subpar. a couple of booms at corner give the Power some ability to fend off passing attacks and their 14th round pick of SLB Paul Jefferson turned out to be a wise one as he will be the anchor of Calgary's linebacker unit.

Downs: the booms at the cornerback position were nice but the corner who was needed most flopped in camp as 8th round pick CB Eric Hampton seemingly nosedived out of a starting role.

PHILADELPHIA REVOLUTION

Ups: a largely uneventful camp for the Revolution. a few minor upticks within the offensive line provides some welcome fortification. WR Travis Hart made a leap and will line up nicely with fellow downfield threats WR Matthew Coleman & WR Damon Jenkins

Downs: both CB Slim Gordon & RDE Darrel McClendon had chances to become elite defenders, but they blew it. They will still get plenty of snaps and get involved, but they will be doing so as average players, not elite ones like they were supposed to be.

CHICAGO BUTCHERS

Ups: some improvements on the offensive line is welcome news to QB William Cutting. the Butchers have hit nicely with their 15th pick with the drafting of FS Blackburn Daniels

Downs: some retrogression on the offensive line is bad news for QB William Cutting. WR Paco “El Pato” Keys failed to impress in camp but will still provide value with his quickness by delivering water bottles to the real football players in a speedy manner

MEXICO CITY GOLDEN EAGLES

Ups: the Golden Eagles had just 8 players improve and they each improved by only one :(

Downs: not much to write about here either. was surprised to see two 10 year vets decline by 3. i read somewhere that vets over 6 years will not fluctuate in camp - the lie detector test has determined that is a lie

TIJUANA TIDE

Ups: DT “Randy” Randy Floyd made the leap and is now a second tier DT in my rankings….not bad for a 12th rounder. Improvements elsewhere on the defensive line (LDE William Small +3 & DT Everette Moll + 2) and 9th pick RDE Anthony Burton will have the Tide fielding a imposing front four.

Downs: WR Manny Pacquiao didnt have a good camp but he will still be a force. unfortunate outcomes for the secondary in Tijuana - the first three picks they spent on secondary all declined but CB St. Croix and CB Lockhart will still be a menace to passing games

BUENOS AIRES GAUCHOS

Ups: QB Nathan Frank has won over the coaching staff and he is believed to be the future franchise QB in Buenos Aires - not a bad deal for a 23rd round pick. improvements by defensive ends Claude Griffin & William Schmidt provide needed power in the trenches. their highly volatile first picks RB Osborne & MLB Price didnt fluctuate at all, which is a big up for the Gauchos and are rewarded with a top rated RB and MLB. landing a potential starting RG in Paul Kelly in the 27 round is icing on the cake for a great camp for Buenos Aires

Downs: slight declines from CB Enrique Gilbert & SLB Arnold Abbott are unfortunate but will be hardly noticed...they will both be starters on a team looking to make waves as soon as we kick off

SAO PAULO CHOPPERS

Ups: 5th round pick RB Thomas Robles made the jump to top rated running backs, but may not have the break away speed that is coveted in MFN. but compared to the rest of the Choppers backfield roster, he is like the cheetah

Downs: where Robles excelled, RB Vanderpool failed and will have to accept the RB2 role. Sao Paulos highly touted linebacker corps had a minor setback - each of the three linebackers drafted in the first 8 rounds declined slightly. declining by two is a bit more sad than normal when it happens to 30 year olds picked that highly.

ROSARIO GUAZUES

Ups: QB Craig Vines!!! a terrific pick in the 20th round. now rated 4th out of rookie QBs. big time steal for Rosario and a lucky one considering Guazues have just one QB. other booms on this highly volatile team include favorable boosts to the front 7 and welcome increase of ratings to the top three WRs who all seem to be wearing cleats made of cast iron

Downs: with the booms come the busts and the Guazues got them. a total of seven players achieved double digit declines. on a positive note, only 2 of those players were chosen in the first 25 rounds and the next bus is leaving for the airport in about 5 hours.
