snow day....had time for a write up......Kings defend their turf and claim the first Mediterranean Cup......Strongbows drop two in a row as RB Left Lane Jones continues to come off the bench in a limited role. a huge win on the road for the Bayhawks as they clinch the USA Division......the Revolutions 6 game streak comes to an end as they forget to play offense and the Jaguars post season hopes remain afloat.......Vancouver wastes 7400 miles of fuel for perhaps the most boring game of the year in a shutout loss to the Sharks. bad timing for a bad game.......Kraken dim the playoff hopes in Toronto and sweep the St. Lawrence cup in 2069......Gauchos continue to round em up en route to an eight consecutive victory and control of the one seed.......Deities win 4 straight and are now 6-1 with QB Randall Cunningham IV starting......Owls slide continues with a tough loss to the Kings in the Mediterranean Cup.......Lions shut out the Pirates in front of a sold out home crowd for their 4th shut out of the season. Pirates playoff hopes in jeopardy with third straight loss.......Tides loss to the low ranked Choppers gives them a 3-5 record in last 8 games after opening 5-0. their last three games of season are at home.....Butchers protect home turf from the Street Urchins but face a brutal 3 game stretch to close the season (opponents record 30-9) but luckily for them two of them are at home.

worth noting.....

*teams that average more than 3.3 yds per carry are a combined 55-36 (.604)

*teams that limit opponents to less than 2.8 yards a carry are a combined 91-55 (.623), 90-43 (.677) when omitting the Spires

*teams that attempt more than 32 passes a game are a combined 68-112-2 (.378)

*teams that rush more than 34 times per game are a combined 77-40 (.658)

*Bushmasters have been shut out 5 times. average score of a Bushmasters game is 5-20

*Lions now lead league with 4 shutouts

*Zippers lead league in scoring with 18 per. Revolution is the only team yet to allow 100 total points and average just 7.5 points per game allowed

*the Golden Eagles and Lions are only teams in top ten of both yards allowed and yards gained. the Revolution is very close to joining them

* Strongbows have an incredible turnover margin of +17. teams that are plus 9 in turnovers are a combined 53-25 (.679), 48-17 (.738) when omitting the Manta Rays

In a game where neither team was able to get in the end zone the Jaguars were able to make 2 long FGs to beat the revolution in a game in which both teams really needed a win. Both teams sit at 7-6 and are in a tight race for a wild card game. The Revolution is the only team to have given up less than 100 points on the season. In a very evenly matched game the Sharks were ½ on FGs and the Trident missed 2 FGs in a shutout loss. Both teams are in a tight 3 team race to win their divisions. After winning their first 2 games the Prizefighters have now lost 11 straight to put themselves in the conversation for the bottom 4. The Anchors easily won this important divisional game to stay on top of their division. The Power get a win over the Manta Rays by kicking 4 FGs while the Manta Rays kicked 3. Both teams are in 3rd place in their division but are only 1 game out. The Kraken took any hope of the playoffs away from the Distillers on a heart breaking last second FG. Kraken QB Shane Sharp threw 64 times for 360 yards. The Kraken are also ranked 1st on MFNs power rankings despite 4 losses. The Guachos earned their 1st place ranking in Frank’s power rankings by winning their 8th straight officially eliminating the Stampede. The Tornadoes were able to keep their wild card hopes alive by eliminating the Guazues. The Deities only had to complete 12 passes to beat the 86ers and stay tied on top of the division. The Kings got by the Owls in a game that could have gone either way significantly hurting any chance the owls have at making the playoffs. The Lions defense showed no mercy while shutting out the Pirates making it very tough to see the Pirates making the playoffs. The Tide thought they had an easy win when they saw the Choppers on their schedule only to get caught in a trap game and now the Tide have lost their division lead. The Golden Eagles fly right past the tide with an easy win against the league’s worst team. The Zippers score TD’s at will, embarrassing the mountaineers. The Zippers now have a 4 game win streak and the best scoring offense in the league. In a clash of the titans the Bayhawks beat the Strongbows. Both teams have already claimed their spots in the playoffs. The Rodeo beat the spires on a last second FG but it is meaningless as both teams are looking forward to next years draft. The Butchers significantly outplayed the Street Urchins holding them to just 10 rushing yards. This is only the 2nd time Oxford has given up double digit points. They can’t afford to do that with their offense just not producing, which is highly concerning for the playoffs.
