another season is about to begin here is a quick summary of each team

CANADA

the Power squeaked into the playoffs last season with their third straight wild card berth. RT Buzz Bronson was a great pick for them late in the first round. with RB Samuel Heisman entering his prime and MFN RO legend Webster922 in the big seat it is easy to see them in the playoffs again this season

the Kraken have seemingly taken control of the once eerily stable Canada division. Shark1720 has been their owner since the start and has not once had a losing season. they have won eleven plus games and took the division crown for three straight seasons including last seasons best record in the conference which ended with an upset loss at home versus the eventual champion Choppers. they were aggressive in free agency and landed some key players including SS John J. Rambo Jr. and 3 starters on the defensive line. HC William Trusty is 28-8 since his appointment but has yet to give a clear answer on who his starting QB will be. they want nothing more than to face the Choppers again in the post season. they are my pick to win the New World conference

the Trident are under new ownership for the first time.... a big welcome to Jchap25 .....best of luck with your squad. there seems to be an intense competition for starting QB in Vancouver. last seasons snaps were divided equally between QB Zachary Rosenberg & QB Victor Haynesworth....both QBs have been rumored to be frustrated with lack of commitment from Trident brass. does all time great RB Quentin Osborne have enough left in the tank to lead a post season charge?

the Dire Wolves 2076 campaign was a disappointing one which resulted in the franchises first double digit tally in the loss column. they may be in safe hands with gunslinger QB Ogama Itto who had a dazzling rookie season despite his 23 INT thrown. he lead the league in attempts, completions and yards. their defense must improve (third most points allowed & third most yards from scrimmage allowed in 2076) if they want to make any noise in 2077

USA

the San Francisco Bayhawks run of contention (which included three appearances in the Ultimate Showdown) seems to have come to a halt. talent appears to be thin and they have no ownership. hopefully they will find a new owner to guide them. we will see what legendary HC Santos Duerr can accomplish with insufficient support

the Chicago Butchers are big favorites to take the division crown in 2077. JakeJarmel is the divisions only original remaining owner and has guided his team to 85 regular season wins. they landed three starting caliber players to a roster that the program ranked #10 in 2076. i expect them to be in the chase for the number one seed in the New World

the Houston Rodeo have the slowest roster in the league (i did not fact check this).....but after years of lousy ownership and horrible trades, ricmoney seems to have put them in a position to earn their first playoff appearance. perhaps the Rodeo will be a litmus test on how impactful players max speed truly is. rookie RB Hardcore Rawlins is a future star if he can hold on to the football

the Philadelphia Revolutions tandem of all time great RBs have returned for what is likely their final productive season. combined RB David Steinberg & RB Hotcakes Sampson have 21,946 total yards and 101 TDs. i havent fact checked this either but no other tandem of teammates comes anywhere close to those amounts. the Revolution had just three draft picks but added a lot of run blocking including RT Sebastian Homes who tumbled to 1.12 in the draft after a video of him smoking a huge bong went viral on the internet. i can easily imagine the Revolution making a run at the wild card but if not this season then certainly in the next

M/CA

the Golden Eagles are the most up and down team in the league. jouameng once again has one of the fastest squads with 9 players at 90+. much of the Golden Eagles hopes for success will ride on the shoulders of third year QB John McClane. will his numbers match his skills this season? if not, they will have to rely on their speedy RBs to get big chunks of yards. its hard to know what to expect with this team but i never count them out

the Tide are under new ownership after their best season to date. a disappointing home loss in the first round to division foe San Jose was the worst way to end their pursuit of greatness last year. MistbornJedi has taken over a talented defensive unit that was third in both points allowed and yards allowed. league MVP RB Thomas Moore was traded away to open the door for RB Frank Rice at RB1. i predict they will be in a tight battle with the Bushmasters for the crown

Piechowskia has guided the San Jose Bushmasters to two consecutive playoff appearances after years of frustrating underachievment. 2072s seventh pick RB Desmond Floyd is entering his prime on the heels of three consecutive seasons of 1000 rushing yards. it will be their first season without crowd favorite CB Rudolph Drayton patrolling the secondary

the Macaws hope to rebound from two really bad seasons. they hired long time Buenos Aires HC Rodney Bradshaw to stop the bleeding. their tandem of linebackers in Sorin & Astrada (back to back first overall picks) will be disrupting offenses for a decade. it is now up to Beardmamba to find the other pieces needed with in the next few seasons to have a quality team ready for both of the young linebackers prime. it would be a good story to see the Macaws flirt with 500 but i think it may take a season or two more before they have a chance at the playoffs. it will be interesting to see if they make a move to get a younger RB in order to make a push this season.....they have plenty of quality players including an A+ offensive line......they could very easily be the surprise team of the year

SOUTH AMERICA

the good vibes are strong in Sao Paulo where the Choppers have a very young roster full of talent. their draft class is among the best in the league. they are the easy favorites to win the division again and seem poised to remain competitive for the foreseeable future. everyone in the world is confused on why they have yet to work out a contract extension with HC John Bryant

the Tornadoes were on the cusp of their first playoff berth but could not overcome an obstacle in their schedule which had them on the road for the last 4 games. RB Nick Masons breakout 2076 provides a case for optimism as Guayaquil fields arguably the most potent RB combo in the league. getting to the plus side of the turnover ratio will be key....they have only done so once (+7 in 2070). a wild card berth is a strong possibility for them

the Guazues made the leap last season and hope to keep it going in 2077. RB B.A. Baracus has yet to produce big time rushing numbers that i thought would be routine when he was coming into the league. i expect him to gain 1800+ total yards this season. many league insiders were surprised the Guazues didnt draft more help on the offensive line......a boost in run blocking might be what B.A. needs to unleash

the Gauchos have progressively lost more games in each season of their existence. last seasons 6-9-1 record resulted in just the second post season absence in team history and the replacement of local legend & long time HC Rodney Bradshaw. Bradshaw has a chance to play spoiler as he leads the Macaws into his old stomping grounds week 15. not sure what to expect from the Gauchos this season but feel it is safe to say that if they dont improve over last season then replacing Bradshaw wasnt the fix they needed

EUROPE

the Owls finished 2076 with the franchises all time worst record of 5-11 just two seasons removed from their Ultimate Showdown victory. HC Keith McGraw takes over for HC Charles Vicknair who was unceremoniously removed. QB Aaron Clark had a horrendous final season but will be missed. i am not convinced that the Owls made enough moves in the offseason to order to return to their winning ways in 2077

the Strongbows success may come down to the play of QB Terrance Rigby. if he can get into double digit TD passes they have a good chance to win what seems to be a weak Europe division

the Spires hope to have their first season above 500 after finishing a franchise best 8-8 last season. they added just two rookies to help their cause. RB Solomon Dodge is entering his twilight but has as stout offensive line that hopes to push him through for some more first downs. they also seem to have a chance to win the division but have a tough start to their season with 4 road games

the Armada took the division last season but are entering 2077 without an owner. they have the talent to win some games and remain somewhat completive but arent expected to accomplish much without guidance

ASIA

the Rajwadi have as impressive of a roster as one could imagine. they have all star potential at almost every position but i am still confused by why they havent used their wealth of draft picks to land a top RB. RB Brian Brown is poised to have a productive year, but his handles are suspect ....he is expected to be among the league leaders in fumbles. they are expected to make a run deep into the postseason

the Pirates stay the course and decide to go with QB Robert Sizemore at QB1 for another season. i do not see this as a make or break decision for them since i do not expect to see them making the playoffs either way considering how tough the Asia conference is at the moment. expect LDE Max Cady and the rest of the defensive line to once again lead the Pirates towards the top of the sacks counter

the Zippers bounced back in just as predicted in 2076 but that wasnt enough to save Howard Rameys job. HC Bryan Baumann was introduced as Toyamas coach for the second time while Ramey graciously accepted a demotion to the OC role. Toyama brass and all their fans were relieved when QB Klondike Klopp announced that he would be returning for another season. the RB1 gig once again goes to RB Dead Sea Floater who is the best of a surprisingly thin group.....we will see if his legs are still up for it

the Heroes found a new owner in amalric7. welcome back. Ulaanbaatar looks to make another push for their first playoff appearance. much of their hopes are in the legs of standout RB Haruki Tanaka. besides landing top five talent with a 1.30 pick in RT Kerek Alubyttar their offensive lines seems to have a few weak spots. it will be interesting to see how aggressive new ownership will pursue more talent in order to push Tanaka through while he is in his prime. on defense they have a solid front 7 but the secondary is a bit suspect....they finished 28th last season in yards per pass defense

AFRICA

the Stampede enter 2077 as the favorites to win the Old World again. HC Rudolph Nelson is now 27-5 since taking over HC duties two seasons ago and has gotten his team to the Ultimate Showdown both years. i am pretty sure they have the fastest team in the league. the addition of MLB Inigo Montoya only cements their expectations

the 86ers finished 2076 with their second consecutive wild card berth but saw their season end Rajkot again. new owner jhall218 has the tools needed to return. RB Lee Maldonado remains one of the leagues premier rushers after his official switch to RB and they have an O line built to pave the way as long as they find a way to include LT Michael Hadley in the mix, not sure if they have a shot at the playoffs this season but if they do it would be impressive for their first year owner

the Lions had surprise success in 2076 with 11 wins but were quickly sunk in the first round by the Anchors. their acquisitions during free agency strongly suggest they are making another push instead of opting for a rebuild. RB Macho Banjoko had a breakout year in his first as RB1 and expects to be among the top rushers again in 2077. they seem to be well rounded in all phases except secondary where they are still looking for a couple of pieces to keep it all together

the Deities tradition of being a tough team may be coming to an end. after being playoff competitors for their first five seasons, they have managed to win just 16 games in their last three. 2077 would be an opportune time for a turn around for them. they signed QB Greg Roy on a ridiculously cheap deal to take over at QB1. their top pick MLB Poppy Bismark was a volatile one who went -9 in camp but still turns out to be a great addition at 1.8. Cairo seems to be a team who could make the leap this season but i do not see it happening with the lack of talent they have at RB & WR

OCEANIA

the Anchors won their division in convincing fashion last season and have a strong chance to repeat. their strength lays on the offensive line who will pave the way for star RB Billy Bojangles & newly acquired but on last legs RB Left Lane Jones. their weakness at secondary may be unable to contain game breaking plays

the Manta Rays had a huge setback in 2076 after a promising 2075. they got top tier talent with their 1.2 pick in acquiring CB Fuji Hirosha but i am not convinced that will be enough for a turn around. they easily have the oldest roster in the league with an impressive 25 players with 10+ years experience and lack talent at key positions

the Sharks traded away stud MLB Inigo Montoya for future picks which leads me to believe that they are not aiming to compete this season. they have given the keys to second year QB Tyrone Bennet who is a pleasant surprise for them after QB Drew Bledsoe IVs bust. despite their challenges, i see a chance for them to make a significant improvement over there three win season last year and perhaps a shot at their first wild card birth

the Prizefighters got into a hole early last season and almost clawed out of it but were just short. HC Clifford Hoehne got to keep his job but a repeat of last season will surely be his last. they have a rock solid o line and a trio of 26 year old RBs who are all capable of being a RB1. they only had two picks in the draft and curiously went with WR for both of them. they are a fast team with a superb secondary and a complete roster up and down. it is easy to see another battle with the Anchors for Oceania supremacy on the horizon
