no big upsets this week

the Bayhawks score a TD on the games first possession to set the record straight in a highly anticipated matchup with the Butchers. the teams are now knotted at 9 wins a piece atop the USA division. MVP favorite QB William Cutting has a pedestrian outing largely due to CB Ryan Fetzers 6 (!) knockdowns. the division is now up for grabs but the Butchers have a much easier remaining schedule. cheers to a third match in the playoffs

the Trident score ten unanswered points to close their match with a victory over the slumping again Power. the win keeps Vancouver on top of the Canada division while the loss is a major disappointment for Calgary and all but destroys their hopes to return to the playoffs. "major disappointment" cannot be understated - no one is sure what is the problem so of course everyone blames HC Jason Fan who just added 3 years to his contract after last seasons success

RB Benjamin Penticost has another 100 yard game and the Golden Eagles snuff the clock will a game killing 4 minute drive to defeat the Guazues to stay on top in the M/CA division. Penticost needs 402 yards in the final 5 games to set the season record. Rosario still has a shot at the playoffs but their remaining strength of schedule is not favorable...a loss next week in Chicago would put hopes of making their first playoffs to bed

the Gauchos kick a field goal with under a minute to go to seal the deal at home versus the Choppers in a surprisingly close game. Sao Paulo QB Gabriel Boone throws an interception on the first play after the field goal and many Chopper faithful are beginning to believe a change is needed under center if the team is to turn the corner

the Strongbows score 10 in the first half and that is all they need to defeat the Spires and move into a share of the lead with division rival Oxford. Prague QB Kelly Bryant throws 2 more INTs for a league leading 18 on the season and their season seems to be taking a turn downwards after two consecutive home losses to divisional opponents

the Zippers pull out the victory in the game of the week with an impressive TD drive leaving under a minute remaining in a chilly Ulaanbaatar to move to 8-2-1. QB Shane Sharp throws 52 times for the second time this season with both occurrences happening versus the Heroes. the loss makes two in a row for the Heroes who look to keep their playoff hopes alive next week in Prague

the Lions orchestrate a 10 play 75 yard drive in the fourth quarter to secure a major road victory in Cairo with a 13 - 6 defeat of the Deities. Lagos QB C.J. Calloway is the only QB yet to be sacked this season. Cairo is currently tied with the Strongbows and Street Urchins for the last wild card spot. the victory is the fourth in a row for Lagos and sets the stage for the next two weeks when they host the Gauchos & then the Stampede. Lions fever is thriving in Lagos. a week 16 showdown in Brazzaville is shaping up to be a big one

QB Andrew Prosser completes just 4 passes to power the Stampede over the Manta Rays in the beatdown of the week. WR Terry McDonald has two TDs in the first half and RB Melvin Blankenship has two TDs in the fourth quarter. Jakarta RB Jason Sullivan has a tough outing with 3 fumbles. Brazzaville is in high gear as they head into the final stretch where they will face the Lions twice and travel to Cairo

the Tornadoes win over the Revolution makes it four in a row and they find themselves in the thick of what is shaping up to be an intense battle for the final wild card spot in the New World. the 5 game free fall for the Revolution seems to have cemented an underachieving season. HC Mitchell Smith seems to be aware that he has 5 games left in Philadelphia

QB Aaron Clark snaps out of his season long funk with a 298 YD 2 TD 0 INT performance and the Owls stay in contention after protecting home turf from the Street Urchins. Oxford has a chance at redemption in week 16 but have a few challenging games before they get there

the Dire Wolves win a big divisional game at home versus the Kraken and are currently tied for the final wild card spot in the New World

the Macaws make it two in a row over the Pirates. Shanghai still has a chance to save their season that began with high hopes but have 4 of their last 5 games on the road

the Bushmasters shutout the Stars to move to 6-5. San Jose WR Jason Eades has just 92 receiving yards & 0 TD on the year after HC Bill Finney moved him to WR1 for 2073. this is quite the drop off from his average of 594 YDs & 5 TDs thru 11 games in the past four seasons. for those who are not aware, WR2 is the choice slot to plug in your speedy playmaking receiver. this is the receiver who runs the most routes with game breaking potential. WR1 is the best slot for your sure handed, run blocking possession type receiver. the differences in yards per reception and total yards between the two slots are apparent in most teams

the Prizefighters seem to have claimed Oceania supremacy with a road win over the Sharks. they are now 13-3-1 vs divisional opponents since 2071. they also have the current best conference record (6-1-1) in the Old World

the 86ers earn their third W at home versus the Anchors. Auckland has now lost three straight and have slim chances of making the postseason
