half of the 3-0 teams lost in week 4 which leaves just 4 undefeated teams remaining
surprising 0-4 starts for both the Tide and the Anchors
we start this week in Prague, where the Spires fall to 0-4 with a loss to the
Owls. nothing but field goals in this one. the Owls face the Strongbows next week and the winner will be on top of the Europe division
the
Tornadoes are able to hold off the Anchors for an exciting home victory. the Anchors hold Guayaquil to just 11 yards of offense in the final frame but are unable to connect on a 2 point conversion after
RB Buck Blues late TD. Tornadoes
RB Francisco Hill has 2 rushing TDs and Auckland rookie sensation
RB Billy Bojangles runs for 122 (new season high) and a TD on 18 carries. Auckland
K Joshua Hastings is having a horrendous start in 2072 and is now 3/7 for FG and 1/3 for extra points
QB Shane Sharp throws for two TDs in the first half as the
Kraken gain control early and never look back with a home win versus the Dire Wolves. they are both now 2-2. neither team missed a kick or turned the ball over
the
Street Urchins protect home turf from the Strongbows to claim the latest
Battle for Wales. both teams start with excellent TD drives and victory was in reach for both squads until
QB Cheekie - Fat Rascals third TD pass of the day to cap a clock killing touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. the victory was much needed for the Street Urchins and keeps them from starting 0-4
the
Sharks muster a road win in Manila despite accumulating just 125 yards of offense. the Prizefighters have three separate 50+ yard drives terminated by turnovers. Manila rookie
RB Theodore Red loses two fumbles (both recovered by MLB Charles Elam) while
QB Randy Jackson throws 2 INTs on the day
the
Gauchos score 4 TDs in a rout of division foe Sao Paulo.
QB Nathan Frank is continuing to silence those who doubted
HC Rodney Bradshaws decision to bench perennial MVP candidate
QB Robert Williams with a 15/19, 3 TD display. the Gauchos appear to have it together once again with a 4-0 start in 2072. a notice to any team that needs a QB, Robert Williams is on trade block and hes got a few years left in the tank
Calgary
QB Steven Keyser connects with
WR Floyd Harpe for a fourth quarter TD and the
Power stay undefeated with a win over Vancouver to even up the Mountain Cup tally at 4 each. a tough break for Calgary though as star
CB Harry Valenti injures his knee and is expected to miss up to 7 games
the
Bayhwaks return the favor of a week one home loss with a road win versus the programs number one ranked Butchers. Chicago manages to take a fourth quarter lead until the Bayhawks muster a 60 yard drive that results in a game winning field goal courtesy of
K Cleo Johnson. the win gets San Fran to 500 for the first time this season while the loss is Chicagos first
the
beatdown of the week goes to the
Golden Eagles for their 34-6 shellacking of the tide.
WR George Baker becomes the first player this season with both a kick and a punt return for a touchdown. Mexico City scored a TD by air, ground, return and turnover. Tide
RB Richard Braswells fumble woes continue as he now has 6 in 4 games while their rookie
QB James Coleman is struggling to complete passes....his passer rating is just 50.23...... i certainly did not factor in a rookie QB with low accuracy when picking the Tide to repeat as M/CA division champs.....the decision to let
QB Derrick Koepke become a free agent does not seem like a wise one at this point.......i didnt even realize it happened until now
in a battle of undefeateds, the
Lions outlast the Zippers in an epic match that was as back and forth as it gets here in MFN RO. an instant classic. the teams totaled 726 yards without a turnover, which is likely an Ultimate Legends all time record. both teams scored on every possession in the first half and there were just 6 punts in the whole game.
QB Christopher Silcox connects with
WR Earl Allen on a quick slant that goes for a 64 yard TD in the third quarter and Lagos holds onto the lead from there with the help of two field goals from
K Cedric Longwell the
Kings reach 500 with a win over the Pirates in another highly entertaining game. two instant classics in one week. each team scored on a fumble return to take the lead. this one ends in dramatic fashion as Tel Aviv scores 17 in the fourth quarter.
QB John Cromartie connects with WR Dead Sea Floater on a slant for a 36 yard TD with just 25 ticks left to break a 16 all tie. the Pirates
WR Pete Flanagan gains 38 yards on a last gasp drive to get them to the Kings 30 yard line with ten seconds to go but fumbles to end the game
the
Heroes impressive start to 2072 continues with a victory over the 86ers in Johannesburg. Ulaanbaatar rookie
QB Terrence Rigby is shattering molds with his play. he is currently first in completion percentage, second in QB rating and third in yards per attempt.....terrific for any QB who is not a rookie. it seems Ulaanbaatars future is in good hands behind center
the
Revolution wrangle the Rodeo in Houston.
K Jesse Shaw connects on just one of his four FG attempts and the Rodeo go another game with out a TD. in 4 games they have managed to score a total of 15 points. Philadelphia
WR Matthew Coleman is having a blazing start to 2072........he has scored a 25+ yard TD in each game and is leading the league in receiving yards with a share of the lead in touchdowns. he is the only player with 17+ receptions and 17+ yards per. helluva job, Matthew
the
Jaguars defeat the Stampede in the
upset of the week. this one isnt close as Panama City takes a 24-6 lead into halftime and keep Brazzaville out of the red zone of their own building for the entire game.
RB Boogie Barker erupts for 230 total yards and a TD.
QB Greg Roy has a near perfect game going 15/17 for 140 and 2 TDs while Stampede
QB Dennis Cobb has an uncharacteristically horrible game by throwing three INTs in the second half. the defending champions look top rebound next week in Mexico City and are favored by 13.....ill put 3 thousand on Mexico City plus 13
the
Bushmasters are 4-0....i cant believe it. great stuff. the program rankings arent giving them any love though (#21). they accumulate just 129 yards of offense but force the Deities into four turnovers including a crucial fumble deep in their own territory in the first quarter to set up the winning TD
Guazues
K Ray Finkle misses an extra point to tie things up in the fourth and it is all bad for Rosario from there as the ensuing kick off is returned 105 yards by
RB Chas Black (219 total yards, 2 TDs) and the
Manta Rays get to 500 with a win in Rosario. LACES OUT!
another great season thus far and we are already halfway to the trade deadline
