That was a fun draft with tons of trades. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Hopefully camp will be kind.

We came into the season with a 3rd round pick, a 4th rounder, three sixths and a seventh. Free agency was amongst the worst I've ever seen - nice to see every team in a League extending player contracts.

If we were going to make any strides forward for the season we were going to have to be creative. We sent 6.22 to Panama City Jaguars in return for WLB Andrew Jones. The eight year veteran was purely to add depth at a position of weakness.

Then we got involved in a monster deal with Sao Paolo Choppers where we picked up three second rounders and a high third rounder (2.15, 2.17, 2.30 and 3.4) having already got 3.3 we now had five picks in the top 70 instead of 1. In return we sent next seasons 2nd and 3rd rounders and a 1st and 2nd from the following year.

Our final deal involving draft picks saw us send 6.1 and 6.16 to Lagos in return for a 5th rounder next year and a sixth rounder the following year. In essence we picked up an extra three second rounders and a third in exchange for three sixths and we'll worry about the next two seasons when we get there.

In round two we went very OL heavy with a Tackle, Guard and a Center. In theory this is going to give us a very inexperienced OL having already got Bulldog Slobber, Honest John Lyre and Bill Brasky last year alongside Mickey Bricks a year prior, meaning we could well have the youngest starting OL in the League. That's likely to lead to plenty of false start penalties as they adjust but we could well have got an OL for the next 10 seasons.

At the top of the third, we picked up a WR/RB crossbreed in Gunner Boom and followed that with DE Fox Hunter. Two potential playmakers and gamechangers on both sides of the field. Round four saw us add a LB and we're hopeful that Threecard Monty will show up well in camp.

The final pick we're delighted with, we've been very disappointed with Kicker, Jose Holland and felt Leif 'Left Peg' Legg could be a major upgrade at a key position.

With 61 players on the roster we had to back a cut and LG Michael Long was the unhappy party. We now go into Training Camp with anticipation that we're going to make another leap forward this year.

2.5 LT Vagrant Vagabond

2.17 LG Harley Davidson

2.30 C Buddha Bing

3.3 WR Gunner Boom

3.4 RDE Fox Hunter

4.13 MLB Threecard Monty

7.15 K Leif 'Left Peg' Legg

Mixed results. Red boomed and will take over as the starting RB and should provide a big boost to our run game. Turner boomed very good at WR and is an outstanding Tyreek hill style WR. This should give a huge boost to the passing game. Sadly both of my early lineman busted, however I traded back in to the 5th to take a flyer on a talented 3rd ol in Jensen and he was a hit. He'll take over at RG and provide a big run boost and maintain solid pass protection. I was hoping for 2 out of 3 but I'll take it. Jones is what he is at CB. Which is a fast cover man who will back up the entire back 7. Very painful cut busts at much needed TE and backup LB. Should be much improved but there's still holes and room to improve.

Pretty unbelievable draft, out of 10 rookies only a dopey 6th round QB didn't hit. I'll need to remember this the next time things go horribly wrong!

Great Draft for the new GM of the Jaguars.
You all know how the las pick in the draft (7.5) is a lotery , but Jaguars end up finding a future FB starter thanks to Training Camp. The rest of the player did good in training camp, we are satisfied with the results.

2.5 LT Vagrant Vagabond: Lots of work to be done on his technique, susceptible to the run despite his strength but should be able to protect the QB. Like Bulldog Slobber last year, not the long term starter we wanted but an adequate squad filler.

2.17 LG Harley Davidson: JACKPOT, The Coaching staff are raving about this youngsters ability. The only question remaining is Tackle or Guard.

2.30 C Buddha Bing: Will battle it out with current starter Eric Stalder and could well displace him, if we decide we need Eric's experience at Tackle.

3.3 WR Gunner Boom: Would the Wide Receiver live up to his name. He showed signs of being a solid possession receiver but is often slow off the line of scrimmage. A useful depth guy.

3.4 RDE Fox Hunter: Lock up your QB's, The Fox is going hunting for sacks. Adaptable and versatile. Hunter will likely pop up all across the DL. Alongside Hunter Zamora, Michael Swoope, Pat 'Pixie' Pockets et al, this is amongst the best DL's in the League.

4.13 MLB Threecard Monty: Could well be on the bus back to Clemson after a horror show at camp. The last hope for Monty is a switch to SS but he could well be back on the Streets, hustling for dollars and dimes come cut day.

7.15 K Leif 'Left Peg' Legg: We've spent two or three seasons trying to replace Jose Holland who just doesn't have the leg to be 'elite'. We expect 'The Dutchman' (Holland) to find work with his accuracy, just don't expect much when you go over 50 yards and he may struggle to reach the end zone on kickoffs on windy days.

A rookie Kicker does have a downside in general as you have to wait for his accuracy to mature. We'll take 'Left Peg' though and cross off Kicker as a position to improve for the next decade.

Legg, Hunter and Davidson should all have an impact in their debut season's (barring injury) and we're expecting all three to make the rookie team of the year. Bing and Vagabond add depth to an improving, youthful OL. Boom has a battle to make the final roster and Monty needs a miracle.

GRADE: B with potential to be an A if Hunter and Davidson can translate good camps into on field performance.

*Davidson at pick 49 saw his trade value sky rocket to 2600 (from 1800) whilst Vagabond who we only drafted ahead of Davidson because of his trade score (2600) dropped to 800!

Kinda blows my theory about selecting players based on trade score.

It was my first draft ever in MFN, and also in charge of the Panama City Jaguars.
These were the picks:

1.05 - Marcel Gallant - MLB: We took who was soposed to be the best MLB in the draft and we did not get disappointed. Training camp showed a great development in Cur and 2 points of decrease in Fut.

2.04 - Amadeus Reed - C: We knew the risk was high by taking a player with high Volatility, but his features were too good to be ignored, and boy did he develop in training camp. He have a lot of faith in Amadeus.

3.05 - Gabriel Market - LDE: Gabriel was a position need pick. We needed to take matter into this account, LDE was our weakest position in roster. He had a great training camp and we hope he can fulfill the needs at the position.

4.04 - Ricky Hickman - LT: We should have gone for a FS here, but Ricky's Run and Passing Blocking numers made us to go with him with out 4th pick. Hope he keeps developing, and turn into a good player.

5.05 - Geoffrey Clark - FS: So here, we did go with a FS, he was not the best available at that moment, but his numbers in Punish Receiver and Run Defense made us to go with him. He had a really good training camp and he turn out to be a future starter for the Jaguars. FS was a position need at this draft, and we hope Geoffrey will made us forget about that need.

6.04 - Julius Thompson - K: This draft had a good amount of Kickers, and we wanted to take one, in order to cover if pur veteran Kicker decides to retire any time soon. He did not have a very good training camp, but we still have faith he can be a startes in a year or so.

6.22 - Robert Raya - LG: This pick was traded from Street Urchins when we send a LB to them previous to the draft. Robert had a great training camp, growing +13 in Cur and +0 in Fut, so if he continue with this tren he could be a starting LG in the future.

7.05 - Matthew Desalvo - FB: Well here we really found a gemme, and we were not expenting to. Matthew has a very high Volatility, but his numbers at some aspects got out eye.
He had the best training camp from all rookies in our team, comming up with a +11 in Cur and a +11 in Fut. We are really excited to see how Matthew keeps on developing.

Later, we took to more rookies:

Alexis Lancaster - LT: He was originally drafted by San Jose Bushmasters, but later cut. We took him and if he coninues in this path he could turn out to be a LT-reserve.

Jason Giesen - RG: We took Jason as an undrafted rookie, and his numbers were not that good after training camp. He could possibly be cut in the following days.

Hope you are all happy with your drafts and have a great season!
