the New World Conference Showdown featured two of the leagues top performing QBs.
QB Maxwell Akers throws 2 TDs to
WR Mathew Coleman and the Revolution defeat the Tide to punch their ticket for their first trip to the Ultimate Showdown. Akers threw for more than 330 yards for the third time this season.
SS Robert Marvin (16th overall pick of allocation draft) records both an interception and a fumble recovery.
the
Tide came up a bit short but expect to be contenders for the next several years. each season they have recorded double digits in the win column, have the fifth best all time record of 31-14-3 (Gauchos 37-11, Kings 35-13, Zippers 33-15, Owls 32-15-1) and are one of the four teams to make the playoffs every season thus far (Gauchos, Anchors & Kings). what stands out about them is their youth - 49 of their 53 current players have 7 or less years of experience.
QB Derrick Koepke had a great season and is only 27 years old but has yet to receive a contract extension with just one more day to do so.
the
Revolution have been preparing for this moment since the start of this league. finally able to win the competitive USA division with a one loss season, they enter the Ultimate Showdown as one point underdogs according to MFN program.
the Old World Conference Showdown was won with a TD strike from Stampede
QB Dennis Cobb to
WR Terry McDonald midway through the fourth quarter. a potential game winning 53 yard field goal attempt from Owls
K Sam Good was a triple doinker with 3:48 to go. statistically, this game was as close as it gets with Brazzaville finishing with a slight edge in the run game.
the
Owls will be heading into 2072 with top tier talent at the skill positions. after losing in OT in the 2070 Ultimate Showdown and barely losing the 2071 Old World Conference showdown, a return to deep in the post season is a safe bet. a bit of help at linebacker could put them in the Hall of Champions.
after barely clinching a first round bye and almost missing the playoffs entirely,
HC Wm Webster has the Stampede in the Ultimate Showdown for the first time. they have a powerful offensive line to create holes for their speedy RBs. their LB corps is also speedy with
MLB Dean Mack leading the way.
the Stampede enter the game as the healthier team. Revolution stud
LDE Krunk McGraw will not be suiting up and both their WR1 & WR2 having nagging injuries which will slow them down

prop bet - both RB David Steinberg and RB Melvin Blankenship will fumble. QB Dennis Cobb wins Showdown MVP
