alteration to league rules

before, it was stated that a few positions in depth chart must be represented by a player with same assigned position e.g. QB1 must be a QB & RB1 must be an RB......... now i ask that all positions carry the same respect

anyone reading this who is interested in a league with no rules....check out the Anything Goes league

Just for clarification as I often do this for my backups:
Its still ok if I use a backup LDE as LDE2 but also as RDE2 right? I do that on a few position groups where it makes sense for me. Not only with the side on which they Play but also for example in the O Line with Guards and Tackles and sometimes also SLBs and MLBs where one active backup is fine for me and it still fits with the ratings and weights.

But all starters normally exactly fit with the Position in my case.

My situation is very similar like LuckyNumber__, mi starter players are from their position, but on Defense i have multiple players helping as #2 or #3 positions. On the Offense i do also have the OL mixed at #2 and #3.

after some thought, i realized i need to be a bit more clear on something......previous message was not completely thorough.......

all players plugged into an RB slot should be an RB. if not then there would be a loophole to have RB2 be a WR and RB2s get a lot of carries. my previous message stated only starters needed to be same position. WR are not to be RBs in this league since the passing of the Maldonado rule which was put into effect in 2076

in addition.....all TE will be a TE, all DEs will be DEs. im not into policing much but feel that these rules make it tougher for any speed exploits common in MFN. if i notice anything "off" we will chat

main goal is to not have players playing out of position for a speed advantage and i feel rules should be easy to interpret. in case of injuries acceptions are permitted but i dont want anyone taking advantage of an injury. i feel there may be some gray area here but i ask for all to adhere to the honor system. i do have another league where there are no rules called Anything Goes RO

any questions, concerns or recommendations please voice them here. if there needs to be more clarity lets work on it

One thing about this though is that you can reposition a player that has no chance of reaching the weight for that position, so they'll still have a weight/speed advantage despite being positioned correctly.

this is true and thank you for pointing that out

the way i see it is that each player has a list of positions that he can play (to be found on each players card). i figure its fair game for that player to transition to any of the available since they are available. some players have many positions available while some have little

also, if we were to introduce weight restrictions for positions, i feel it would make being admin a bit more involved than i am comfortable with. i do not wish to review rosters and game logs to ensure compliance or mediate any disputes. those doors are best to remain closed. owners have been able to change players to any position for the enirety of this leagues existance. the purpose of this rule alteration is to prevent players being put into depth charts slots that do not match the players position. before, the rule only covered a few positions known to be prone to out of position exploits, but now it includes each position and all RBs, DEs & TEs

in the end it remains a level playing field, the same rules apply to everyone and everyone has the ability to change a players position. i encourage owners to find advantages and experiment. teams do this in real life. i aim to have as little rules as possible

i have read that in some league a rule had to be made to not switch a player back and forth to keep the weight low. example being a player who is able to play DE & CB and repostioning him every other game to keep the speed up while they are on defensive line. dont do this. i dont wanna make a rule...... just please dont do this. lets use the honor system and help keep issues off the admins desk. im sure everyone can agree that it gets real annoying when the honor system breaks down
