gonna toot my own horn here

in history of ULRO, there are 7 players with at least 4000 rushing yards while averaging 5 yards a carry

1) Harvey Smith ------ 5.4 Avg, 5820 Yds
2) Barry Jackson ---- 5.2 Avg, 4433 Yds
3) Macho Banjoko --- 5.2 Avg, 12211 Yds
4) Jackson James --- 5.1 Avg, 5019 Yds
5) Paul Thornton ----- 5.1 Avg, 6815 Yds
6) Walter Jacobson - 5.0 Avg, 7038 Yds
7) Payton Walters ---- 5.0 Avg, 10148 Yds

top four Avg were/are all Lions. in 2083 they were all on the same team! Lions went 12 - 4 that season which earned a wild card berth. made it to Conference Showdown to lose to the eventual champion Stampede after being held to 68 yards on 27 carries (2.52 Avg)

we still have the Jacksons but there is no doubt the Lions are looking for their next game breaking RB. James fumbles way too much and Barry is turning 30 and is staring at a speed drop in camp. Lagos has been focused on dominating the run game ever since the league started and before the ground game era was ushered in with new engine

hopefully Ramses III is the guy. he has a 4.4 Avg and 867 yards so far. we will see if his speed gain from transition to RB will get him into the club. he has about 4 seasons to get there

Hill & Anderson are both great prospects but Lagos doesnt believe their higher than averge volatility will keep them on the board until the 28th pick and are not looking to trade up to grab someone with above average volatility. other than those two RB the crop this draft is very weak

ps i have some free time now. the hectic grind of my job resulted in a hypertension diagnosis and i have been taking it easy....had to go to ER when it read 190/120

since then i have learned of the long term effects resulting from high blood pressure and may stop my career as chef entirely

check your blood pressure at least once a week. if it is higher than 120/80 check it more often. if it is consistently high (above 120/80) consult your physician. if its high and you do nothing you will have a stroke, a heart attack or your organs will become irreversably damaged

it is called the silent killer. number one cause of death. many people (like me, before) dont take it seriously because often there are no symptoms

take care all. stay healthy out there

and g10rsh.....no more of my coaches!!!!!! lol

That's pretty impressive, and glad to see Thornton up there.

Hope you recover and feel better soon!

(And sorry for the poaching got scooped on my first choice for head coach and had to find the next best guy!)

Frank....well wishes on your health. It's the most important thing we have in life. I've battled chronic high blood pressure for years now. I'm on three blood pressure pills and normally run 140ish/65ish range. I'm in stage 4 kidney disease, which some of that may have been attributed to the high blood pressure. Also, watch your sodium intake. Read labels. You will be amazed at how much sodium is in foods you wouldn't think contains it. Good luck to you.

I think you are a wonderful commish. I just had a run in with a commish in another league that wouldn't do anything about 3 horribly lopsided trades. It has taken all semblance of a fair league away. Thank you for your fair but firm stance in being a commish.

H....

yeah i have cut down salt and alcohol......two of chefs best friends

it is impossible to emphasize how important our health is. it is easy to get into a mindset where it is an after thought or taken for granted with all of the other things in life that we must deal with

if i could go back in time first thing i would do is take my health more seriously. luckily its not too late

thank you for your support Hondo and glad to have you here
