Week 9
1. Gauzues. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best and they have done just that this season. Embarrassing the Tornadoes and Butchers and also beating the Lions. I still have my doubts that they can keep this going. But they took the top spot by force.
2 Tornadoes have had some issues this year, such as giving up 31 to the Gauzues. But my team has been good enough to not slide any further than 2nd in my rankings. I wish I could stay at #1 like the programs rankings but I can't ignore how soundly the Gauzues beat me.
3 Rajwadi managed to lose 3 straight division games at home to start the season. They haven't been ready to start the season the last 2 years, but once they get going we know what the Rajwadi can do.
4 Prizefighters? On their 2nd year of having no owner the Prizefighters are still looking very good. They currently rank 4th in total offense and 1st in total defense.
5 Trident fired their head coach mid season but that doesn't change the fact that they are a top 5 team in my opinion. They have a big game coming up against the Nanooks to see if the coaching change fixed the offense.
6 Nanooks were a top ten team on both sides of the ball last season despite have a losing record and missing the playoffs. This season the wins have come along with the stats. Although they are largely untested. Their one loss wasn't close to the Prizefighters.
7 Butchers a constant in the power rankings and playoffs are a good bet to make it again. They got mixed results against top teams with a win over the Tornadoes and loss to the Gauzues.
8 Heroes start off the season just the same as last year with a win over the Rajwadi. That's always a good way to start a season. This year though they have backed it up with 6 more wins to finish out the first half. I can't say that I'm a believer. But they clearly aren't bad as they have the best record in the league. I just have my doubts about any team without a run focused HC and a bad defense.
