The off-season in Tijuana feels different this time—less drift, more direction.

With new GM DogboyUK taking over, the Tijuana Tide finally have something they’ve lacked: a plan. The cap sheet is clean, almost pristine, giving the front office room to actually build rather than patch holes. The problem, of course, is the roster—thin on proven talent, short on star power, and coming off a season where flashes of promise were buried under inconsistency.

But this rebuild isn’t about quick fixes.

The first draft class sets the tone: athletic, hungry, and clearly selected with a long-term system in mind. Instead of chasing big-name veterans, DogboyUK targets upside—players who can grow together into a cohesive unit. A couple of bold trades bring in young contributors already on the cusp, while free agency is used smartly—not for headlines, but for culture setters and scheme fits.

Now, there’s a core.

Not a finished product, not even close—but a nucleus. A young quarterback learning the ropes behind a reinforced line. A defense built on speed and aggression. Playmakers who might not be household names yet, but are starting to look like they belong.

The expectation isn’t immediate contention. It’s progression.

If this group develops the way the front office believes, the Tide won’t just be rebuilding—they’ll be rising.
