I think we should keep the balance bar, but get rid of the "too unbalanced to be processed" feature.

I know there have been times when I would have accepted a trade, even though the AI said it was too much in the other team's favor.

I would like to do this as well, but I feel like it needs to have some other protection in place such as a community vote to reject trades - that are beyond a certain balance point - before they are finalized. I feel the harm to the game would be greater if too many users are able to take advantage of new players and/or manage to create multiple accounts that upset the competitive balance of the leagues than is caused by having trades unnecessarily rejected.

I'd much rather have the community report unbalanced trades and review them on a case by case basis if it's not too much work for you. Seeing how upset people got over the 3 aging vets for a 4th and a 6th rd pick trade, no one would ever be able to trade again.

The community voting on trades in each league.May end up being an issue. You still have owners in leagues not even playing with big turnovers in a lot of leagues each season.

I'm open to suggestions but will say that in order to keep the solution scalable it cannot include me making final decisions in controversial trades. The community override idea rolling around in my head goes along the lines of having a certain amount of time where a trade can be rejected if a certain number of owners (probably based on a percentage of league owners - perhaps active within the last 7 days or something) reject the trade. Owners would be also given the ability to approve the trade which would reduce the reject vote count. If there are not enough owners voting within a certain time frame then the trade would go through.

The biggest problem with that would be last-minute trades during the draft, but one way around that would be to only require approval for trades that are currently rejected by the AI, and trades that are currently accepted would continue to be done without delay. (I might tighten the AI just a tad with the ability to push a trade through with a vote).

What would you do if say a new owner joins the league at the deadline too vote on a trade?I would think you should still review the trades jd.If no one is voting on a lopsided trade it could hurt the league in the long run. If the vote is tied. Does the trade go threw? How long would everyone have too vote on a trade? Not everyone logs on every day.Just a couple of my own thoughts on this right now.

jd just set the trade bar too what ever you think is fair for everyone. Then do not adjust it at all anymore.Everyone will just have too deal with it if they can not make a trade like the rest of us.Seems like every time someone can not make a trade they always say it needs adjusting. You can not keep adjusting the bar every time someone can not make a trade.

I agree with this!

What would be the point of having the Bar, if it's not going to do what it should be doing?

+1 the bar has wreaked havoc on a couple of my trades, but overall it makes you think harder about relative player values and pick values when determining a trade.

This is what I'm going on about...

What you can see is the entire trade, IMHO this trade should go through, but it's so loaded in St Louis' favor it won't go through.
