As I understand your posts, you don't want to have a "Smirt"-roster with 15 WR and 15 CB staying in their role but playing at the other positions. The players may be converted to their best rated position and remain there, right?
E.g. DE will become DT and will be displayed as DT and not as DE with position DT#2

Btw I'm playing like this in all my leagues except "No Holds Barred", so you may count on me.

I'm thinking about creating a league where every player plays there assigned position.

That means no more WR playing RB or CB playing LB or LB playing defensive end.

It means drafting and sustaining a legimate football team where DTs weigh 300 pounds....TEs weigh 260...RBs weight 215 to 220 and DEs weigh 270.

It means gone are the days of 15 WRs and 15 CBs take up the bulk of the roster and 190 WRs become bell cow RBs.

It means building a more authentic roster and setting up a gameplan and going against other authentic rosters.

Player Distribution

QB 2
RB 4
FB 1
TE 3
WR 5
OL 11
K 1
P 1
DL 8
LB 8
DB 9

If I can find enough owners actually interested in this....I will create it.

A simple like is answer enough but replies are welcome. Let me know what you think

@CJFred, It may be easier for you to put minimum/maximum players per position. Then you can easily check a roster without being too concerned about specific weights

eg;

QB: 1-3
RB: 2-5
FB: 1-3
TE: 1-4
WR: 4-8
OL (Any designation): 7-12
DL (Any des): 5-10
LB (Any des): 5-10
CB (Any des): 7-12
P: 1-2
K: 1-2

Taking minimum numbers puts 35 players on the roster and allows for flexibility into how you choose to fill a roster.

Put me down as a yes. Are you going with a theme or using standard NFL franchise - If the latter, can I take the Seahawks.

Are you going to use the BETA engine or stick with 0.4.5 (or 0.4.6 if it has been released)

If we're making requests...if you decide to create this league...can I have the Raiders please? Rg always beats me to them ;)

The players weight is the key to the whole concept. I will have no problem booting anyone who pushes the boundaries to gain an advantage.

I want 200 pound plus RBs so when someone has a WR getting a bunch of rush attempts....the boot!

I want legimate defensive lines with nose tackles

Legimate linebackers...legimate FBs and TEs

If you plan on joining and using overrides to gain an advantage by playing players out of position....don't waste your time doing a whole allocation draft...just to get booted!

If you plan on only drafting 4 defensive linemen so you can use linebackers as depth....don't join

If you plan on drafting 4 linebackers and using defensive backs as depth....don't join

If you plan on drafting 0 FBs and 1 TE and using RBs and FBs as depth...don't join

I'm looking for owners that get it and plan on following the rules.

Let's build some realistic football teams....a league full of those will be fun to play in.

OK, I'm good, that's the way I play anyway.

However, one final question if a team is decimated by injuries at a position (we all know it happens). What is the plan in those scenarios?

It's pretty clear. You draft within a position and use over-rides within that position.

One drafts a player, commits to a position on his player card and is then bound to that usage, right? I could draft a RB later in the draft whom has a nearly or full red bar breaking tackles, immediately switch to WR on Day 1 and have his weight go down to 198 lbs. for forever usage.

Draft, commit, must stay with it?

This goes for regular drafts, too. Select player, confirm where he's heading and never change again.

May want to put restrictions such as no DE to CB or CB to DE swings. (Ok scanned through and saw where you said that it's not allowed!
