Has anyone figured out what the reason for game settings suddenly changing is? More important, has anyone figured out how to avoid it happening? Tonight was my night and it couldn't have come at a worse time/game since I was playing for a spot in my first league championship game.
Logging in before the game, I noticed my defense had secondary options with percentages that I never use. My linebackers were set heavily to zone with next to no blitzing and my run/pass/neutral ratios were skewed toward the run in levels that I never, ever attempt. I hastily tried to reconstruct the game plan that I'd made, but in the rush I totally forgot to check the offense. As a result, instead of a 65-35 pass to run ratio, I got to watch my 15-1 team attempt to run the football at 60+ percent and execute an offense that looked like it belonged in a Roster-only league.
Is it my fault for not thinking to check the offense after discovering that my defensive settings were FUBAR? Absolutely I should have thought to glance there and didn't since I rarely adapt that side of the ball once personnel and equilibrium have been established early in the season.
I'll live and learn from it but I'd much rather have lost in the persona that got me there rather than some shade of the team we'd been all year.
More important though, I don't want it to happen to me again. So if anyone has a clue on why/how this happens and how to avoid it, I'm all ears and beers right now.
